The Immaculate Heart of Mary: Sister Lucia, First Saturdays, and Fatima Consecration
Cristy Murray and Father Perry Kenaston introduce the podcast and open in prayer, then discuss the Immaculate Heart of Mary through Sister Lucia’s post-Fatima visions in Spain, including the December 10, 1925 apparition where Mary’s heart is shown surrounded by thorns and the First Saturdays devotion of confession, Communion, and the Rosary offered in reparation, as well as the offenses that wound Mary’s heart. They recount Jesus’ February 1926 encouragement and Lucia’s June 1929 vision of the Trinity, the Eucharist, and Mary’s request that the Holy Father consecrate Russia in union with the world’s bishops, noting later papal consecrations and Lucia’s confirmation of the 1984 act. They also share pilgrimage experiences at Lourdes and Fatima, mention John Paul II’s devotion, and invite listeners to a 46-day “Blessed Mary’s Mantle” consecration before closing with a Hail Mary and announcements.

Welcome to Mary's Messages: Leading Hearts to Jesus today, the podcast where we listen to the voice of the Blessed Mother and allow her to guide us ever closer to her Son in our modern world. I'm Cristy Murray, and I'm with Father Perry Kenaston. And together we, each week we explore stories of faith, conversations with Catholic voices, and practical spiritual tools to help you encounter Christ more deeply. In a world longing for peace and clarity, Mary continues to speak to her children with love, hope, and a mother's gentle wisdom. Thank you for joining us as we open our hearts to Mary's message and let her lead us to, into the loving embrace of Jesus, which is a very beautiful, wonderful place to be. And Father Perry, welcome. Would you like to start us in prayer? Oh, yeah. Father, Son, the Holy Spirit. Amen. Lord God, your Son committed his disciples to, "Let the children come to me." Lord, with kindness upon us, and help us to sur- shepherd your children and lead them into your loving presence so that they may know- Your life and your love. We ask this through Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns forever and ever. Amen. Amen. Amen. Today, we are going to talk about the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Yes, Cristy. This Immaculate Heart of Mary is Providena, Spain, 1925. When the Blessed Mother first appeared at Fatima on May 13th, 1917, Lucia, the oldest of the visionaries, was only 10 years old. At the age of 14, she was admitted as a boarder in a school of the Sisters of St. Dorothy in Velar. Wanted to dedicate her life to Blessed Mother. She entered the Institute of the Sisters of Dorothea as a postulant in its Convent of Tul, Spain on October 24, 1925, and pronounced her perpetual vows October 3rd, 1934. The first vision. During her years of religious life, she continued to receive visions from our Bl- Blessed Mother, starting on December 10th, 1925, while she was still a postulant. In this apparition, Lucia said and saw the Blessed Mother standing over a cloud of light with the child Jesus at her side. The Blessed Mother put one hand on Lucia's shoulder, while the other hand held her immaculate heart that was surrounded with thorns. The child Jesus spoke, "Have compassion on the heart of your Blessed Mother. It is surrounded with thorns that ungrateful men pierce each moment, and there is no one that is willing to offer an act of reparation to take the th- thorns away." The Blessed Virgin then spoke, "Look, my daughter, my heart is surrounded with thorns that ungrateful men pierced unceasingly with their blasphemies and ingratitude. You, at least, try to console. You should announce that I promise for all those who have on five consecutive first Saturdays confess, receive Holy Communion, pray the Holy Rosary with the intentions to do reparation, I will assist at the hour of death with the graces needed for salvation." Our Lord Jesus Christ revealed to Lucia the offenses and blasphemies which wound the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Those who deny or question the Immaculate Conception, her virginity, her divine maternity, and those who instill in children their prejudices against the Immaculate Heart, and those who insult or offend her sacred image. Our Lord once again appeared to Lucia in February 1926, asking about the promotion of the request made by my-- His mother. Lucia could only explain the difficulties she encountered, but Jesus replied that His grace was sufficient. Another apparition of the Blessed Mother occurred June 1929. Lucia described the apparition in this manner, "Suddenly, the entire convent chapel was illuminated in a su- supernatural light, and the gr- cross of the light appeared over the altar and reached the ceiling. On the superior m- part of the face of a man was seen and his body down to the waist. A dove-like light was over his chest, and nailed to the cross was another man suspended in air over his waist. I was able to see a chalice with a large host. Drops of blood from the face of Jesus crucified and blood from His pierced side fell into the chalice, dripping from the host. Beneath the right arm of the cross was a lady who appeared as Our Lady of Fatima. In her left hand was her Immaculate Heart that was encircled by a crowd- crown of thorns and flames. Underneath the left arm was the cross. Big letters similar to the crystal waters came down to the altar, forming these words, 'Graces and Mercy.' I understood it was the mystery of the Blessed Trinity and was revealed to me, and I could see inner light about this mystery, which I am uni- unable to reveal." The Blessed Virgin Mary told me, "The time has come in which God asks the Holy Father to consecrate Russia to the heart in union of all the bishops of the world. I promise salvation through this means." In response to Our Lady's request, various consecrations of the world were made by Pope Pius XII, Pope Paul VI, and twice by John Paul II. The last consecration by Pope John Paul in 1984 was considered by Lucia to have been in conformity with the Blessed Mother request. In the year 2000, Pope John Paul II consecrated the third millennium to the Heart of Mary For the 15th anniversary of the apparition at Fatima, Sister Lucia in 1967 traveled there for the ceremonies conducted by Pope Paul VI. When Pope Paul II visited the shrine on May 13th, 1982, to thank the Immaculate Heart for saving his life during the assassination attempt of May 13th, 1981, Sister Lucia was again present. Her last visit to Fatima was in the year 2000 for the beatification of Jacinta and Francisco. Lucia spent eight- 80 years as a religious and died on February 13th, 2005, at the age of nine- 97, succumbing to infirm- infirmities of old age. Her funeral mass at the cathedral was presided over the city's bishop, Most Reverend António Cláudio. Her body is now entombed in the basilica in Fatima, besides those of Jacinta and Francisco, her companions in the apparition of Our Lady of Fatima. So once again, my friends gee, we have a, a, a way of looking at how Our Lady works through people and everything. I myself have been to Lourdes about three different times, and each time is different because you're right there. And of course, you're there with thousands of other pilgrims. But in our particular case, we had just a few people. Cristy, we... That's the one that you went on too, right? Yeah. But the tremendous... it's it's a tremendous experience. There's a mass there. We say a mass there and everything, and no matter what time of the season, this is in November, and people are still i- in awe. People are healed and everything, if you've never been there, my, my advice is start saving your pennies and go. You won't, And you will be accompanied by a priest, so he'll say mass. That's generally what we do and with regards to everything. But, here in the States, basically what happens is that we all go... we go out of Los Angeles and we get over there, and we're met by a tour guide, and we get to the hotels and... or AO Hotel, and begin the next day at before the chickens get up. Yeah, my God. It's 6:00 AM. 6:00 AM you're downstairs having a buffet breakfast, and at 8:00 o'clock or so sharp, and this is what the tour guide says. You go, "She's the boss." So you gotta remember that. She, when we... When she snaps her fingers, we say, "Yes, sir." But not quite. It's okay. But she's there, huh? And she's there to keep us in order, so to speak. She even tries to keep Father in order, but we have an understanding even before we go to bed that first night who's in charge, and it's Jesus and Mother Mary. So that, that works out just right. But we have a... we start the m- we set the bus on the first day there with prayer. Then we have the Divine Mercies and a mass, et cetera. And sometimes the, the tour guide is nice to us and we can ad lib a few things On the schedule that she has. But, for the most part it's well and good. W- 6:00... you start at 6:00 AM and you end at 9:00 PM every day for 10 days. And then you come back to the States and you go to your home to rest, so to speak, but it's wonderful. And like I said, I would highly recommend Lourdes and Fatima. If you haven't done it yet do it. It's, it'll be well worth worth the adventure. So Cristy, if you have any questions, that's fine. I know we're on a bit of a schedule, we'll go from there, yeah, I just wanted to add in Fatima it was really good to see the crown of Our Lady of Fatima, and then they had explained that the bullet that that sh- that was shot at St. Pope John Paul II fit exactly on her inside that crown. So- that was y- now you can see how everything is connected with his protection, with his devotion, and then the Blessed Mary's intercession And if you're wondering about the sword, when they first approached the the temple there and they dedicated Jesus at the customary time, that's what the... That's what he said. He said, "A heart..." "A sword will pierce your heart for the love of everybody." So that's what that is. And of course, the roses are there, too. And the fire is a representation of the love that she has for us- Yes all the time And if you're looking at this graphic, boy- alls you gotta do is look at the eyes, a mother's eyes trying to take care of her kids, so- And gentle arms trying to yeah- Yeah reaching out to us. Yep. So that's it. Okay, Father yeah, it's gonna be a short episode today. We... So if you're not aware, we, Father and I are doing consecration. It's called the Blessed of the Mary's Mantle Consecration, and it is 46 days, and today we're actually on day 25. And every Saturday we meet in Zoom, we watch a video about Blessed Mary and people sharing, and then we, we talk about, we have a little discussion. So in the future, if you want to, take part in it and join us in the community consecration what it entails is one day of fasting for one person, and we take turns fasting, and, daily rosary and daily reading. And it's amazing. You can really, like even now at day 25, people are feeling, the fruits of how Mama Mary loves us. But yeah, so join our email list and then, you'll keep, y- you'll be updated for all that this is happening. So Father, you wanna say a closing prayer? I think it would be very fitting just to say a Hail Mary, huh? In case we were. Yes. So in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, amen. Together, huh? Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women. And blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary. Holy Mary, Mother of God. Mother of God. Pray for us sinners. Pray for us sinners. Now and at the hour of our death. Amen. Amen. May the Lord be with you. May almighty God bless us, the Father- The Son- And the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit. Amen. All right.
